How do implant dentures work?
Dental implants are titanium posts that are placed into your jawbone and then fuse with the bone over time. This creates a strong foundation to hold bridges of custom-made replacement teeth in place, that look and feel just like natural teeth. All in 4 dental implants can securely anchor a full set of implant dentures in place.
-
Is it painful having implant dentures fitted?
While the procedure may cause some discomfort, it’s generally well-managed with local anaesthetic and post-operative pain medication. Unlike traditional dentures, implant dentures offer a much more stable fit, reducing long-term discomfort. The initial adjustment period is brief, and most patients quickly adapt to their new, natural-feeling teeth.
-
How long does it take to have implant dentures fitted?
Once the titanium implants have been placed into your jawbone, they need 3-6 months to fuse with the bone. Once healed, your dentist, Paul or Vish, will attach abutments and take impressions for your custom dentures. Creating your unique dentures usually takes 2-3 weeks. Finally, your new implant-supported dentures will be fitted and adjusted for comfort. The entire process can take 4-9 months, but we’ll be able to give you more precise details when you visit us for your consultation and have your teeth examined.
-
How long will my implant dentures last?
With proper care, implant dentures can serve you for 15-20 years. Their longevity depends on factors like oral hygiene and having regular check-ups.
-
Do implant dentures look like natural teeth?
Yes! Our dental implants are custom crafted to match your facial features, ensuring a seamless blend with your existing teeth.
-
How do implant dentures differ from traditional dentures?
Implant dentures are anchored directly to the jawbone. This secure attachment eliminates common issues associated with traditional dentures, which simply sit on top of the gum, issues like slipping or clicking, whilst speaking or eating. Additionally, implant dentures preserve jawbone health, maintain facial structure, and provide a more natural feel and appearance. For many patients, this advanced option significantly enhances their comfort, confidence, and quality of life.
Rediscover your smile with implant dentures
Imagine laughing freely without having to worry about covering your mouth. For many tooth loss patients, implant dentures can make this a reality. Unlike traditional dentures that sit on your gums, implant dentures are securely anchored to your jawbone, offering a solution that looks, feels, and functions just like natural teeth.
Many patients worry about having implant dentures fitted, but our All in 4 denture system has made it more comfortable and efficient than ever. The investment in implant dentures is an investment in your quality of life, self-esteem, and overall health.
