1. Your consultation

During your 20 minute consultation, Priya will examine your face and explain how Botox works to relax the muscles causing your frown lines. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and express any concerns. She’ll also cover potential side effects and aftercare to ensure you’re fully informed.

2. Your treatment

Priya will inject small amounts of Botulinum Toxin into specific muscles between your eyebrows. This will temporarily relax these muscles. The process typically takes about 10-15 minutes, with most patients experiencing only mild discomfort and no downtime.

3. Aftercare

Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for 24 hours to prevent migration, and refrain from strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours. It’s also a good idea to avoid alcohol, saunas, and hot showers on the day of treatment. Priya will advise you on any specifics.

  • It is a solution of naturally occurring proteins which are injected into the muscles and work by relaxing the muscles. At High Street Dental we use the best quality products that are MHRA approved. The brands we use are Allergan known as ‘BOTOX’ and Merz  ‘Bocouture’.

  • Ageing is formed by the appearance of two types of wrinkles – dynamic and static. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by muscle activity, for example frowning causes wrinkles between the eyebrows. Static lines are formed by loss of volume for example deep lines around the lips and nose which are known nasolabial lines.  Botox injections work by treating and preventing dynamic frown lines by relaxing muscle activity.

  • The procedure involves small injections which cause little or no sensation or discomfort to the superficial skin layer and result in no scarring to the skin at all.

  • Smooth lines and no wrinkles resulting in a natural and fresh appearance. We avoid giving you that ‘frozen’ overtreated look.  You will notice the results in between 5-10 days after the treatment and it lasts approximately 3-4 months.

  • Mild discomfort and redness can occur at the site of injections that last for 24 hours. Occasionally there can be minor bruising to the skin. Please inform the dentist if you tend to bruise easily.
